The Rev. Judy Cobb, Interim Pastor

St. Timothy is currently in the call process.  The Rev. Judy Cobb is presently serving as Interim Pastor. Pastor Judy will lead worship on the second and fourth Sundays of every month and started serving on January 12, 2025.

Pastor Judy received her M.A.R. degree (’74) from Lutheran Seminary in Gettysburg and later completed her requirements for ordination at Lutheran Southern Seminary. She has served as a teacher, counselor, community college religion teacher, radio interviewer, and an ecumenical agency’s hunger coordinator, youth and education director, campus pastor, Region 8 coordinator, and pastor. She served on three rosters: LCA lay professional, then ELCA associate in ministry, and ordained ministry in four calls and five interims. Before retirement in 2014, she and Jim served as co-senior pastors at Ascension, Towson, MD. She is now serving as an interim at St. Timothy, Norfolk.

Church-wide, she served the ELCA in its Division of Ministry, Sacramental Task Force, and ELCA rep. to the Reformed Church in America. She was a frequent columnist with Partners magazine. In 2011, Gettysburg Seminary presented her with the distinguished alumna award for excellence in parish ministry.

Judy and Jim are the parents of two sons: Christopher, a nurse in Westminster, MD, and Stephen, former deputy Atty. General in VA who serves with Cozen-O’Connor law firm in Washington, DC. In addition to interims, Judy is active at First Lutheran, Norfolk, in teaching and social ministries.
