St. Timothy Evangelical Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

We believe in the Word of God, and in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as explained in the Book of Concord (The Confessions of the Lutheran Church).

We acknowledge the Triune God: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and the Gospel as the power of God, which saves all who believe. Jesus Christ is the Word of God incarnate (made flesh), through whom everything was made and through whose life, death, and resurrection God fashions a new creation.

St. Timothy is a part of the Virginia Synod. There are 150 congregations throughout the state of Virginia that make up the Virginia Synod. The Virginia Synod is divided into 11 conferences and we are located in the Tidewater Conference. To find out more about the Virginia Synod visit their website vasynod.org.

The Virginia Synod is one of 65 synods that make up the ELCA. The ELCA was formed in 1988 from a merger of three Lutheran Churches: the American Lutheran Church, the Association of Evangelical Lutheran Churches and the Lutheran Church in America.
