Today is one of the two days each week St. Timothy is open as a food bank to offer assistance to some of the poor and less fortunate in the area.  It will be interesting to see if we notice an increase people coming for help as the “economic times” in our country continue their downward trend.

We have two crews – a Wednesday crew and a Thursday crew – who prepare the food packages for those who come.  It is a marvel to me to watch these well oiled machines systematically go about their business.  Some of our volunteers have been at it for a long time and they “know the robes.”  All in all it makes for a very thorough and efficient operation.

Consequently, I think it is an area of operations that the pastor should stay out of except to offer interest, support and encouragement.
